What to do when your vehicle has a problem

Five steps to the right claims path

1
Check your vehicle service contract

Locate your issued vehicle service contract. Your agreement contains the information that determines how your particular claim should be handled.

Your individual agreement—not a general website description—determines what coverage applies.

2
Identify your contract administrator

Atlas Vehicle Protection is the seller of the vehicle service contract. The administrator identified in your agreement is responsible for administering the contract and handling applicable claims according to its terms.

Atlas works with administrators including EFG Companies / Enterprise Financial Group and BeeCovered. Use the administrator identified in your individual contract rather than assuming which company handles your coverage.

3
Follow the claims instructions in your agreement

Your vehicle service contract explains the process required when a mechanical problem occurs. Follow the instructions for contacting the administrator and beginning the applicable claims process.

The administrator can then handle the claim according to the terms of your agreement.

4
Get authorization before repairs when required

Your contract may require authorization before covered repairs are performed. Do not assume that paying for or authorizing a repair first means the repair will later qualify for reimbursement.

Review the claims procedures in your agreement and obtain any required authorization before repair work is performed.

5
Keep your contract information available

When contacting the administrator or Atlas about a mechanical problem, have your contract information available when possible.

Understanding the roles makes the process easier

Understanding the roles involved can make the process much easier.

1Atlas Vehicle ProtectionAtlas sells vehicle service contracts. Atlas can help customers identify their contract administrator and find the appropriate support path.
2Your contract administratorThe administrator identified in your agreement administers the contract and handles applicable claim authorization according to its terms.
3The repair facilityThe repair facility diagnoses the vehicle and may need to communicate with the administrator as part of the claims process described in your agreement.
4Your contractYour individual agreement controls. It determines the coverage, exclusions, deductible, limits, claims procedures and other requirements applicable to your situation.
Is my repair covered?

A mechanical problem alone doesn’t establish coverage

A mechanical problem by itself does not establish that a repair is covered. Coverage depends on the terms of your individual vehicle service contract.

The administrator evaluates an applicable claim according to the terms of the agreement.

Relevant factors

Depending on the agreement, relevant factors can include:

Which component failedWhether that component is coveredApplicable exclusionsCoverage start requirementsContract term and mileageMaintenance requirementsBenefit limitsDeductibleClaims and authorization proceduresOther contract-specific conditions
Deductible and benefits

What about my deductible?

A $100 deductible is standard, and a $0 deductible option is available on select contracts. Your actual deductible is determined by your individual contract.

Other amounts may also remain your responsibility depending on the repair, exclusions, limits and other terms of the agreement. Check your contract for the deductible that applies to your coverage.

Roadside assistanceAll Atlas plans include 24-hour roadside assistance. Your individual agreement contains the applicable service instructions, contact information, conditions and benefit limits. Use the roadside-assistance process specified in your contract when requesting service.
Rental transportation and trip interruptionCertain agreements may provide additional benefits such as rental transportation or trip interruption. These benefits have their own conditions, limits and procedures. Do not assume that every expense associated with a breakdown is covered — review the applicable benefit provisions in your agreement and follow the required process.
