Vehicle Service Contract Cost

What does a vehicle service contract cost?

The honest answer is: it depends on your vehicle and the coverage you choose. Prices vary widely between providers, and published “average cost” figures mix very different vehicles, terms and coverage levels.

This page explains what moves the price so you can compare quotes on equal terms.

What affects the price of a vehicle service contract

01Your vehicleMake, model, age and mileage all matter. Vehicles that cost more to repair, or that already have higher mileage, generally cost more to cover.
02The coverage levelA contract that lists only specific components costs less than one that covers more of the vehicle. Read which parts are actually named and which are excluded.
03The length of the termMore months or miles of coverage generally means a higher price.
04Your deductibleA higher deductible can lower the contract price, but it raises what you pay when you use the coverage. Ask about the deductible options on the plan you choose; the amount on your contract depends on the plan.
05Included benefitsRoadside assistance, rental or other benefits are defined by the agreement and subject to its terms. Atlas plans include 24-hour roadside assistance, subject to the agreement.
06Who the contract is withThe seller, the administrator and the insurer or obligor can differ. Ask who handles claims and who stands behind the contract.
Total cost

Price is not the same as total cost

Compare more than the headline price. Look at all of these before you decide:

1The deductible, and how it applies when you use the coverage.2The payment structure. Ask about payment options, including a down payment with monthly installments, and what the total is once everything is added up.3What is excluded. A lower price that excludes the component most likely to fail may cost more in the end.4Cancellation terms. Ask how cancellation works and what is refundable, then confirm it in the contract.
Comparing quotes

How to compare quotes fairly

Ask each company to quote the same vehicle, mileage, term and deductible. Then compare the parts that decide what you actually get.

If a company will not provide the written contract before you buy, treat that as a reason to keep looking.

Atlas pricing

How pricing works at Atlas

Atlas prices coverage based on your vehicle and the plan you choose, so we do not publish a single price. To see options for your vehicle, request a quote or call Sales at 888-600-8084 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m. CT; Saturday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. CT).

Ask about payment options with a down payment and monthly installments to find an arrangement that works for your budget.

Review the available coverage options and administrators before you call, and read the buying checklist to know what to ask.Review coverage options

Summaries help you compare. Your contract controls what is covered, what it costs and how cancellation works. Requesting a quote does not enroll you, confirm eligibility or start coverage.
